This weekend Jersey FA President Brad Vowden is set to help out the local game in a new way, by stepping into the middle and referee a match!
This is following in the footsteps of JFA CEO David Kennedy being in the middle a number of times this season, earning plaudits for helping out the local game by those who he has officiated.

On how this has come about, Vowden explained ‘I discussed it with David Kennedy a couple of weeks ago and said it would be fantastic for members of the Board that felt capable enough to officiate. It gives support to our Referees but also for players to see that the Board are interactive and have a will to integrate with the whole football community’
Vowden, who is a former Muratti captain continued ‘Other than Junior Games, when I coached many years ago, this is the first senior competitive game I have ever refereed!’
The JFA President will be in the middle for 035s fixture between Trinity and St Martin on Saturday!
‘I am looking forward to the game and will probably have played with most of those playing. Hopefully I won’t have to use any cards and we can all have fun and a drink afterwards!’
Kick off is 2pm at Trinity if you fancy watching Vowden take charge of a match for the first time! It is fantastic to see the JFA hierarchy getting hands on with the local game, well done to both Brad and David!
