Luca Margaroli has started his own coaching business, LM Football Coaching, and is keen to help develop our future stars on and off the football pitch.
Margaroli, who spent much of his playing career at St Paul’s, earning many junior Muratti caps and scoring in Jersey’s famous Inter League Cup final victory at St George’s Park in 2021, sat down with Dan to discuss his new venture.

‘I’ve been coaching for 4 years now, working for Brazilian Soccer Schools during that period. I’ve delivered hundreds of group sessions in a variety of different forms, I’ve delivered P.E. lessons, managed/coached DLS primary school A and B teams, managed/coached a BSS team, launched and managed/coached my own Jersey select team, LMJS Select, alongside James Scott, been assistant manager of St Paul’s Under 18s and I’ve delivered nearly 2000 121/Duo sessions on top of this. While doing this, I’ve coached boys and girls of all ages and abilities. I felt after gaining all this experience, it was time to launch my own coaching business and start growing my own brand.’
‘The services LM Football Coaching offer are on one to one sessions, duo sessions, trio sessions and quad sessions. I will also offer group sessions of 8-10 players for various ages, starting in September. I have some ideas of how I might expand in the future but what I’ve mentioned is my focus for now.’

‘Football is my passion. I have had some great experiences in football including representing Jersey at all age groups, trialling at several professional clubs, winning team and individual accolades to name some, so it is nice to be able to give back and help youngsters to hopefully have some similar experiences of their own. I enjoy working with young people because they are all so different, some have big personalities and their own mannerism from a young age and others are quite the opposite. This stretches me to find ways to manage and coach each individual, to try and have as much of an impact on them as possible, and I love the challenge. My favourite part of coaching is seeing the development of the children both on a football level, but also on a personal level, watching them grow through the years. I’ve seen this in many instances over my four years of coaching and I look forward to the continuation of this. Another massive reward for myself is watching them have their own success, whether that’s in a football game, by getting into a particular team or winning awards etc.’

‘My motto is ‘helping young people fulfil their potential and achieve their footballing goals.’ I want to help young people fulfil their potential on and off the pitch. On the pitch I want to work tirelessly with them and inspire them to be the best version of themselves and fulfil their natural ability. Off the pitch I want to help build their confidence, their people and communication skills and help them develop friendships when they come to my sessions. Footballing wise, I want to help players have success, whatever that looks like for them. I want to help various types of players achieve their goals. For example, the first player I want to help is a player who likes football, who plays for a school or club B team, but aspires to play in the school or club A team. The next individual would be a player who is a really keen footballer who is on the fringes of representing Jersey. I want to help that player push on and reach the Jersey setup for their age. The third type of player is someone who is an established Jersey player in their age group, who has ambitions and desires to play at a professional level one day. I want to help that player earn a trial or an experience at a professional club, with the ultimate goal being helping a player earn a contract. I have a passion to help each standard of player, and help push them to the next level.’

‘People can get in touch with me by emailing lm.football.coaching98@gmail.com, messaging me on 07797919770 and they can find me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter/X through the name LM Football Coaching. I am looking forward to getting started and getting on the pitch, helping to develop the next generation of football talent here in Jersey.’
We wish Luca all the best with his new venture!
