BSJA Host Liberation Day Horse Show

It is set to be a great few days at BSJA Jersey as they host a Liberation Horse Show. Dan caught up with Tania Duncan from the club to find out more about what they do, the competition and how people can support them by watching!

About the Club

BSJA Jersey has been running since 1954 and is a long-established equestrian club focused primarily on show jumping. Over time, it has expanded to include other disciplines such as showing and working equitation. Events are held at the Le Couvent Showground.

The club is:

● Fully volunteer-run

● Supportive of both junior and senior riders

● A welcoming environment for a wide range of equestrian interests

Upcoming Competition – Liberation Day Horse Show

The Liberation Day Horse Show will take place from 6th to 10th May at Le Couvent Showground.

What’s happening:

● Fancy dress show jumping (Thursday evening)

● Show jumping (Thursday, Friday, Sunday)

● Senior and Junior Teams finale on Sunday

● Showing classes (Saturday)

● Junior & senior competitions

● Finni’s Ark Sanctuary on the showground with animals at the weekend

● All days are open to spectators

Special highlights:

● UK course builders: Colin Ellison and Declan Perry

● Guest judges: Liam Keetley, Kieran Harrison, and Adam Brooke

● Visiting competitors: 8 UK riders (4 ponies, 4 horses) from Western Warmbloods

Home competitions are a big effort but hugely rewarding.

Spectators are strongly encouraged to attend—it’s a fun and engaging event for all.

● Drive up Mont Cochon, past Joel Freire’s honesty box

● At the very top, turn left onto La Rue des Moraine
