Local Football: Weekend Preview

It is set to be a busy weekend in Jersey when it comes to local football.

Jersey Bulls are back at Springfield Stadium as they host Guildford City as they look to get back to winning ways after drawing 2-2 away to Sheerwater on Tuesday night. Kick off is at 3pm on Saturday.

In the local leagues it is a busy day in Premiership 1. Very early front runners St Clement take on Madeira FC at Les Quennevais at 2pm as James Beaumont’s side will look to continue their fast league start.

Elsewhere Sporting Academics will look for their first points of the season as they host St Peter at IJB, Grouville will aim for revenge against their Charity Cup final opponents as they travel to Jersey Wanderers and St Brelade welcome St Paul’s in an earlier kick off of 1pm, with the rest of the games being 2pm.

In Championship 1, St Brelade Reserves then face St Ouen Reserves in the late game up at St Brelade, with kick off being 4pm. St Clement Reserves welcome St Peter Reserves and Grouville Reserves host Jersey Wanderers Reserves in another early kick off, 1pm, up at Le Boulivot.

In the 035s league, which has a brilliant 9 teams this season, St Lawrence host Trinity, St Peter welcome St Ouen and Grouville take on Rozel Rovers in the second game of the day at Le Boulivot at 4pm.

On Sunday morning the Sylvia Spinola Cup continues as holders Rozel Rovers Women travel to St Peter Women, whilst Jersey Wanderers Women face Sports Club of Jersey for the first time, with the game being at Jersey Wanderers.
